Dictatorships Arise When Good Men Do Nothing

President of the United States, Barack Hussein Obama, has chosen to bypass the congress and the constitution and appoint his choices to cabinet posts without senate approval. Now understand that the senate is controlled by the president’s own party, it is the democrats that hold the senate, and yet the president claims it the republicans who are holding things up.

The bible makes very clear that time and again dictatorships are the tool of the enemy and of the judgment of a nation.Take for instance, yesterday. On the biblical calendar it was the 10th of Tevet. This is the day God told Ezekiel to write the name of this day down so it will never be forgotten. This is the day Jerusalem was surrounded by its enemy.

Again in the ninth year, in the tenth month, in the tenth day of the month, the word of the LORD came unto me, saying, on of man, write thee the name of the day, even of this same day: the king of Babylon set himself against Jerusalem this same day. Eze 24:1,2

While kings and even presidents no longer lay siege to cities, dictatorships rise from the ashes of a godly nation in decline. I have said it before. As we move away God’s grace and the truth of His ways, freedom and liberty are lost.

The government model used for America is the democratic republic. This form of government is partially based on the representative model used by Israel under Moses. Under this form of government God gives rights to the people to choose their leaders. The alternative that arises under a society without God is always a type of dictatorship. We must remind our representatives that the president does not have the power he wishes to grab.
