America and the world are suffering this week from an election choice America made over two years ago. The US stock market has lost almost 17% of its value over the last 11 days as fear grips the financial markets instead of hope. It was this same fear that in 2008 allowed Barack Obama to become the president of the United States. I believe that this fear is a result of a lack of faith in God.
The 9th of August lines up this year with the 9th of Av. The 9th of Av is the date on the Hebrew calendar when Israel had a choice to make, believe God and enter the promised land or fear the giants and stay out. Israel chose fear. So, on this day in spiritual history the 9th of Av is also when the first and second temple were destroyed and now the Jewish people observe a time of fasting and spiritual examination.
