Early summer high temperatures and a lack of rain are causing many to question just what is going on with our weather patterns. Some claim it is global warming or what is now called climate change. Others, in Christian circles, are claiming that the earth is receiving the wrath of God. While summers are hot and winters are cold, we should understand we all have a role to play in the success or failure of the world around us.
In Deuteronomy Chapter 28 there is listed a whole host of the good that comes to a nation when its people obey God and the bad that comes from when we ignore and disobey God. Can the rains be affected by the people’s sin? Yes. While the Lord causes the rain to fall on the just and the unjust alike, He is also able to shake us up when we ignore Him.
