The conflict between the Obama administration and the Catholic church and other faith based charities over the new healthcare mandate to provide benefits for birth control continues to dominate the headlines. At issue is the constitutional right for Americans to not have the government impose its view of religion on the citizenry. Can the US government force American businesses to provide funding for murder?
This part of the healthcare law is not only blatantly unconstitutional, but unbiblical. In the final days of the kingdom of Judah before being conquered by the Babylonians, the people of God realized too late that they had violated God’s commands. This included the sacrifice of their children. Their repentance, as heartfelt and zealous as it was, arrived too late to avoid God’s judgment. If America will not recognize its sin against God and its children soon, I shudder to think what awaits us.
