Drunkenness has taken another child’s life in New Mexico. Over the weekend a surgeon living in Santa Fe while driving drunk, killed a four year old. What is the solution for such cases? Can anything be done to stop drug abuse and drunkenness in New Mexico? We hear how drugs like meth affect the user and cause their behavior. But should the killing of our children be so easily excused? Where is the justice that will slow such behavior?
Jesus told us that we have not, because we ask not. He told of a widow who sought justice from a judge. She was persistent in asking the judge to do what was right. Eventually, the judge gave her what she asked. How can this be used in New Mexico? If we the citizens demand that district attorneys and judges deliver justice for the babies killed by drugs and alcohol, if we demand tougher laws from the legislature and the governor, if we demand judges be replace when they fail to be judges, there can be justice and change for the good.
