The cofounder and former CEO of Apple, Steve Jobs has passed away at the age of 56. With his passing America has lost an innovator on the order of Thomas Edison. Mr. Jobs brought us the personal computer, the iPhone and the iPad and so much more. Apple itself is reported to have more cash on hand than the US government and an economy that rivals the GDP of many industrialized countries. Steve Jobs was a CEO and technological innovator like no other.
The bible tells us that it is appointed once for man to die and then the judgment. King Solomon himself observed that a life with all the trappings was but vanity. He ultimately determined that wealth, fame and power are fleeting because our lives are but vapors. We could live the lives of Solomon or Steve Jobs, but unless we desire the Lord and His ways it is but emptiness multiplied.
