Sex and Lies

Lies and sexual misconduct have become normal in the world of politics. But until recent decades at least the politicians had the decency to act shocked and take what looked like the high road when they were caught. With the latest scandal involving the representative from New York, however, both parties are claiming that his actions, including blatant lying to the public are not bad enough to directly tell the congressman to step down.
I do not see this from a Republican or Democrat point of view. God’s word tells us that lies lead to death and destruction, and If a ruler pays attention to lies, All his servants become wicked. We can see this in the New York congressional district the congressman serves in. They believe he is doing fine work and are not disturbed by his week of bald faced lies during this scandal. Should America hold its leaders to a high standard regardless of political affiliation or ideology?
